call for papers – april 2011


The online journal semeiosis ( announces a call for papers for its next issue, to be released on April 2011. Collaborations must be sent by email ( until March 04th.

Besides articles, papers, essays, interviews and book reviews, the journal encourages the presentation of experimental works in connection with the arts and careful to possibilities of knowledge presentation diverse from those offered by more sedimented genres of academic text. Collaborations may be presented in English, Portuguese, French, Spanish or Italian, as long as they be original and unpublished in Brazil.

The journal accepts collaborations from graduate or undergraduate students, professors, artists, researchers, and independent scholars from any field of knowledge, provided that their work is somehow related to Semiotics.

The journal is an initiative of the Research Group Semiotics of Communication, registered at CNPq and established at School of Communications and Arts of University of São Paulo. The Research Group is coordinated by Professors Irene Machado and Vinicius Romanini, also the Scientific Editors of semeiosis.

More than debating language processes, the editorial conception of the journal is that semeiosis itself constitutes an environment of language exploration. Not only to discuss semiosis, but to be attentive to the semiotic possibilities offered by internet in editing and designing contents.
